St Paddy's in Dublin, Ireland
St Paddy's in Dublin Ireland ROCKED! Although I missed the actual St Paddy's celebration of drinking and Irish dancing on the streets since I arrived at night on Friday the 17th, the rest of the weekend was still a blast of Irish festivities and sight-seeing (sic - pub-hopping and a tour of the Guiness Brewery).
Kudos and a big big big thanks to the AIESEC Ireland organizers, and especially Karola for hosting myself and others at her place. An even bigger thanks for the amazing Irish breakfast. Defnitely the cure for hangovers, or at least settling an otherwise very grumpy stomach!
Another thing: Ireland is definitely worth another trip. Jameson whiskey distillery is still yet to be visited, and the Guiness brewery is most definitely worth a second round of tour. Guiness will not taste and experience the same ever again on tap after a taste right out of the brewery, and gazing out of the Gravity Bar on a cloudy and rainy yet still clear view of the city of Dublin.
And drinking at an Irish pub with live Irish music, simply surreal. A most definite good time for chilling out.
Met really cool Americans: Arnaub, Colleen, Kee Won (who bears some striking resemblance to my brother, weird especially when I'm drunk and I have to refrain from being the older brother), and Eric. I'm hoping to get pics from them soon, and I'll also post a pic of my brother, for your comparison! :) First 3 are AIESECers; all crazy americans. :) All they did was drink, but it sure was fun around them. Hope you guys had a blast in Amsterdam. Can't wait to read up on the troubles you got into with 18 hours of gallivanting around the city at night.
Only bad news out of this really great weekend: missed the return flight home by just 10 minutes of the checkin counter closing. So had to buy a return flight single costing 200euros. I'll suck it up, to borrow Arnaub's saying. Hard lesson: checkin closes 40minutes before flight departure; man, and I did read something of that on the confirmation email ticket. Don't believe what they show on movies.
I'll be laying low in Maastricht and maybe Amsterdam until the Romania trip in April.

Whoa, actually found your blog man! Yeah Dublin was definitely crazy, and let's just say that Amsterdam kicked our ass. Sorry for not meeting up w/you, but believe me we wouldn't have found the place either way and by the time we got to this coffeehouse 'Amnesia,' it was way past 11:30.
Anyways, glad to hear you're alive and hopefully your job hasn't fired you. I will make it a point to return to the Guiness motherland and Amsterdam of course is always on my agenda, so we shall meet again.
Cheers,
Arnaub

Ooo... the 200 Euros is definitely an ouch. I guess you'll never be late for a flight again (seems like everyone does this at least once though).
Good meeting you and enjoy Romania!!!
