Last Trips

I've finally been able to post pictures of my trip to Budapest, Hungary and to several cities in Romania (except for the main city of Bucharesti). In Romania we mainly stayed on the western side as we had to drive from Budapest airport to Brasov. It was a great time, well worth it, and something to do all over again, and this time to visit Bucharest as well. I was floored when I met a Romanian guy who had an internship in Hamilton, Ontario couple of years ago who was friends with Loredana's friends. I met him very briefly at a house party in Toronto back then with Assem (Mac's LCP at the time) and didn't really recognize him. Only until conversations turned to internships (most of the people at the cottage were AIESECers) did he mention he had not only an internship in Canada but in Hamilton, I knew I should know him, and I did in fact meet him at one time. Small world! Hey Assem, Bogdan is doing really great, he's got a really healthy business he owns. These Romanians are very entrepreneurial! Very inspiring people.

Hungary/Romania has pretty much been my last major trips to date. I've been keeping it low profile due to recouping finances. In fact, I'm gonna have to forego Prague. For a weekend trip, I think I can save Prague another time when I can visit it with a week's worth of time. On a good note, my last two trips are going to be London which is this coming weekend to visit Sugandha. I leave Friday night from Eindhoven and arrive in Stansted airport. I'm a little apprehensive of this trip because of the money conversion to british pounds being higher value. I'll try to keep things within a 100-150 pounds budget for a full weekend. And saving the best for last, the South Africa trip has been booked for quite sometime now. It was expensive, just the ticket alone at 800euros. Now that we are wrapping up hostels and car rentals, it's getting even more expensive. But I'm really looking forward to 12 days' worth of experiencing South Africa in Johannesburg and Cape Town. I'm not much into zoos and animals, but there's something to be said in immersing yourself in the wild and seeing animal not in captivity but roaming free. Plus, Eric has been telling us this restaurant called Carnivore where they serve MEAT and freshly killed game at that, any kind of meat you want.

I've also bought my ticket back to Toronto. I will be coming back on October 5, arriving in Toronto at 19.45. But there was a problem with the reservation system, and I have to call to make sure I am able to get this flight. It's a return ticket, but that was the only cheap way to get back home. I'd be very tempted to use the return ticket when the time comes! But I'm really looking forward to coming home, and enjoying a month long holiday in October. Maybe a trip to California with my mom at the end of October to visit my grandmother is possible. I can use my points for a free ticket, but I'd have no disposable money to enjoy my stay there. I'm working out a plan with my mom to try to get some money for me from my grandma! But maybe I should save this free ticket to see Vancouver... I'm very keen now to see more of Canada, most notably Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and parts of the East Coast. But first thing's first when I get back: driver's license.
